When preparing to sell a home, we can easily get so focused on preparing the home itself that we overlook a critical element in our home’s curb appeal – the landscape. It is important to remember that people will see your landscape and the exterior of your home before they ever get close to the front door.
Step out to the curb and take a critical look at what someone sees when they drive up to your home. Does it look well-maintained? Is the lawn lush and manicure? Do you have cheerful flowers in pots or beds to welcome visitors at the front door? These items become especially important when the exterior of the home is unremarkable in itself.
A few dollars invested in sprucing up the landscape around your home before placing it on the market can pay off in more offers and a quicker sale. If you’d like specific tips on how you can improve the curb appeal of your home before listing it, give me a call. I’ll be happy to tell you what does and does not appeal to San Diego and La Jolla real estate buyers.
