This year marks the 35th annual Balboa Park December Nights, the nationally acclaimed holiday festival that brings culture and family fun together for two amazing nights each December. Although La Jolla has its own festival on Sunday, there is no reason not to enjoy both as December Nights will happen on Friday the 6th 3 pm- 11 pm, and Saturday the 7th noon- 11 pm.
The festivities for the Balboa Park December Nights includes free admission to participating museums, with many opening their doors to the public from 5-9 pm each night. There will also be incredible food from around the globe at the International Christmas Festival. There will also be dance, music and performance art from the San Diego Junior Theatre and many others.
There is a day trip planned to the festival from La Jolla on Friday from the La Jolla Community Center, leaving at 4 pm and coming back at 9 pm. Although once you live in La Jolla it seems a shame to ever have to leave, it is only a short trip to Balboa Park in San Diego. For those who live in San Diego, experience December Nights then come Sunday to enjoy the La Jolla Holiday Festival and see why so many people love living the La Jolla life!
