The first thing in your plan of attack should always be downsizing. The less you have to pack, the less you will have to move and unpack. Go through your closet and get rid of any clothes that haven’t been worn in the last year. Cull out any old decor items or anything that you really don’t need or want to bring to your new home.
Next, begin packing up those things that are not needed for immediate use, such as seasonal items and items of sentimental value. Be sure to label each box clearly with the contents inside.
Don’t overstock on groceries while your are waiting for your home to sell or the closing on the new home. Why take up precious packing time with groceries which could be purchased later.
